Miah's Story
Miah started her passion for horses when she was just five years old.
She found her passion at Tetagouche Stables, a local stable owned and operated by Margie DeGraaff.

Miah started lessons, creating a deep love for Margie's horse Candy, as well as Annie, Nancy Chamberlain's horse, who was a boarder at Tetagouche Stables.

A few years later, Miah was blessed with Maggie, her first paint. We leased Maggie from a good friend, Cindy Theriault.
Thankfully, Cindy was very patient with us, as we started making Miah's dreams come true!
During that time, Maggie was also boarding at Tetagouche Stables.
A couple of years later, Miah's father bought Chevy, a long yearling. Chevy was significantly underweight when we brought him home, but it didn't take too long to get some weight on our malnourished boy, with the help of our friend Joey Noel.

We were very excited and thankful to board Chevy with Joey, and then for a little while with Margie, while we prepared to take Chevy home to Miah's dad's back yard.... which lead us to Trina, because horses are a herd animal, or like potato chips, you cannot just have one!

A couple of years later, Miah went to visit a horse with a friend. We were not actively looking for another horse, nor was Jake for sale, but before long, Jake moved in and became our herd's boss man, and our gentle giant!

Jake is a Belgian/Quarter Horse cross, with a significant parrot mouth. We believe Jake has special healing powers!

When Miah was in high school, she suffered a tragic event that triggered her seizures. Miah was on and off medication and needed to be homeschooled as her episodes were both often and unpredictable.
During this time, Miah developed an even deeper bond with her horses, as they became her safe place.

Jake and Trina were her undercover babysitters when she was alone in the field. After having a seizure in a bale of hay, one very cold afternoon in December, Jake stood watch over Miah, while Trina and the others faced the path to the house, alerting her mom that something was wrong. Since that particular day, we knew our horses were blessings in our lives.

Miah no longer takes medication, and her episodes are controlled.

To return our love, Miah has decided to dedicate her future to these magical and intuitive animals.
